Bosco,
you might know I'm not a real value investor, because I like to follow trends ("fads"), too. But I don'T play EGRP & AMTD at present valuations. You know my pencheant for group analysis, that's how I arrive at my plays. You could call them "sympathy plays". Data is out there. For swiss stocks, there's www.swissquote.ch. Good site.

You say the net/webstocks are a US phenomenon ? Not to. In Switzerland, there's a company dubbed "DISTEFORA", www.distefora.de. It's sort of an European CMGI. The major stake (52%) is held by the son of a well known German selfmade man - his name: Alexander Falk. That company was outlined in a publication, which was typically niche-oriented. A friend approached me and asked me about my opinion. I looked at some of the press releases and data and at least couldn't find something which would set it apart from succesful US based ventures. He moved forward and bought. Well, I should have done that too, since that time 48 SFR (Swiss Francs) were paid per share. Today that company acquired a big German ISP and the price shot up to 199 SFR. The lack of pure web plays in Europe should make such ventures very attractive.

So much for the Web as an American Unique Phenomen <g>

best regards
CROSSY
