Jeff,

I goccha now. I wasnt around at the time, but I bet you thats what they also thought in 1929 and in 1989 in JAPAN.

Again, I am not saying that the market cant go higher - just have to pick the right sector and now it appears to be the cyclicals, transports, and value stocks - at least for today.

Theres alot of value stocks in the RUT, but since it now skewed by
a few high momentum stocks its hard to judge. The big/momentum stocks in the RUT probably sold off hard today but the RUT is only flat, implying that the market is broadening still. The NEW HIGHs/LOWs are still holding so the market is broadening, so one needs to pick the right sector for upswings.

So for today the HiTECHs/INTERNUTS are out of favor, so which stocks will be in favor tomorrow. We may get that small cap rally now, but it may be hard to judge since the INTERNUT related RUT stocks are selling off. I guess we can just factor out the big momementum RUT stocks from the RUT to get a better picture.
