Mark Madden;

I fully agree that one time charges are just that and should be separated from operating earnings. However, when I wrote to SEG management I asked the question, for the benefit of stockholders, if they thought there would be any more very large, one time charges this year they didn't answer. Surely, they must have known that a charge of this dimension would occur and in fact, was occurring at the time I wrote the letter. Just as they know, in advance, that they will credit 850 million to SEG's books next quarter for the sale of SEG Software, Inc. (which they have announced). Those of us who have kept tabs on SEG's progress and problems were aware that the closing of the Scottish plant would incur a one time charge but $60 million came as a surprise.

It seems cynical to me to announce credits early on but not charges so that stockholders know what they can expect through the rest of the year. I didn't want speculation from management just a straight answer. I know when I am being stonewalled and that is a form of an answer too.
