t2000 -

I am not ready to buy yet--but will be soon.

When ? Sounds like you're vering towards view of the market taking a haircut. OK more or less than ? 10%, 20% How much?

The PC industry isn't nearly dead and it didn't die in the space of the time that INTC was $130 till yesterday or the day before ie less than one week.

No I posted yesterday that the market sentiment is gone for the moment. No real reason for it. Just gone. It smelled that way just as soon as the reaction to the earnings was clear. This market loves things or it doesn't. In this case it was clearly in the 'doesn't category. So down we go for a few weeks I guess. Same as after last earnings season except that this time there is no waiting for all the results to be out and digested. The market has taken a view now that its time to dump stocks and so thats what its doing.

The problem is that that is all OK provided that nothing else goes seriously wrong. Like we're now at the beginning of a European Vietnam. More troops ( only for humanitarina purposes of course) more planes, more ships etc. Remember Gen Westmoreland? Anyway if it takes a turn for the worse, and things in the Balkans ALWAYS take a turn for the worse, then the market will tank big time.

Pls tell mne I'm wrong and not to worry.

Best regards,

L

RE: "Free PCs" - IMO, the more AOL or whoever gives out free PCs, the sooner households that would otherwise have been too "shy" to enter into the net world will get on the net, get crazy like the rest of us, and realize they need a REAL PC (ie. DELL) with REAL CHIPS (ie. INTEL) to do all the snazzy things you can do on the net.

Thinking "outside the box" (pun intended), which analysts rarely do, I think that free PCs will leads to MORE PCS FOR DELL AND INTEL.

These stock prices for Intel and Dell are amazing IMO, and won't be around for long (probably not even by the open tomorrow).

Cheers, GRANOLA
