Uncle: As a RMBS long i share your opimism but....

"With Intel now indicating a September launch of its Rambus-based chipset for use in PC main memory applications, the Company anticipates major volume shipments of Rambus ICs for the PC market will start in the December quarter with royalties from this source following in the March 2000 quarter. Since additional expenses to support this launch are still anticipated, the Company now expects its earnings to be no better than flat compared to second quarter results through the balance of calendar 1999."

That means volume shipments starting Oct - Dec with Royalties paid 4th qtr calendar '99 and 1st qtr 2000 which means we will wait until a year from now April reporting of 1st qtr) to see royalties in any meaningful way...

My read is that the uncertainty of long term value has been removed but that short term it's anybody's guess.

i would guess for a slight uptick tomorrow then low volume and steady stock appreciation thru end of the year to about 100.

Uncle, welcome back. I think that the key is very simple, INTC is still behind Rambus, and thus eventually, we should see a good chunk of all DRAM's being loaded with about 1.7% royalties, all of it pure pre tax bottom line money. But, the damn delays may pull this one to the bargain basement area. A feast is awaiting.
