Sorry, you need to read up on the history of manias. The fact that they are only "self supported", ie everyone just "wills" the stock prices to go higher, simply sets the system up for the inevitable collapse. A multi-level-marketing scam only works as long as there are new suckers to join the pyramid. Well, after about 10 "levels" there aren't enough humans left on the planet to support it.

Ever wonder why nearly every country in the world has laws against pyramid schemes and multi-level-marketing? It's because PEOPLE ARE STUPID, AND THEY WILL CONTINUE TO FALL FOR THESE SCAMS OVER AND OVER. Its one of those areas where governments know people are idiots, and they are simply trying to protect the citizens from their own stupidity. People with feeble minds can't understand why the pyramid would ever collapse, so they keep pouring money into them. Romania's economy collapsed last year when literally the whole population invested in a pyramid scheme run by a few crooks. (who were caught by mobs and killed on the spot)

I guess when our economy collapses due to similar circumstances, securities laws will have to undergo a fundamental overhaul to protect people from their own greed. They had to do it in Romania.
