They cost me a $1000 today!
Up until today I was reasonably satisfied with Lombard. Yes there was an occasional slow day and a few bad fills but all in all not bad. I execute 10 to 14 trades a month.
Today I logged on (very very slow) and got a quote on April 40 WPI calls at 6 1/8. I hit the go to trade button and get an error message. It took three times over a period of 10 minutes and so I had to get a new quote. Again I stuggled to get to the order page which I finaly filled out and submitted. Now I can't get a confirm screen and another half hour has gone by, so I give up and call the trading desk. After a half hour wait I finally get to talk to someone who blames the delay on the tax deadline and place my sell of 10 calls at a full point below the ask when I first logged on. A $1000 dollar loss. I have asked for a supervisor to call me. If they don't make good on this, I'm out of here.

Jim.....you speak as though you believe discover, or any other broker for that matter, actually cares about you, your feelings, opinions, thoughts etc.......... I can assure you they absolutely do not care at all what you think, even if you understand their systems. Getting trades through, en mass, is their primary goal.......and capturing as many customers, regardless of skill level, to produce those trades is the other goal. When you are of no further use to them, or you leave, you will not, I repeat, not be missed. Your patient, rational, polite attempt to fix your trade/software/situation at discover, taking half a day by the sounds of it, made no impression whatever, and at best you spoke to their front line only.....cheap soldiers, newly licensed, and poorly paid who lack any real, let alone, useful brokerage experience. Bottom line....

if you broker isn't executing, regardless of the reason, find another one and move your account as quickly as you can. All the other stuff is a pure absolutely useless waste of time.

regards

Joel
