Some have asked why QCOM has announced the split prior to the date of the earnings. I suspect that this is a shareholder friendly move. Stock should pop, first upon the split announcement. Second, upon earnings releases, we may see a further pop.

I have mentioned the Q to a few people in the office. They look at the price and say that can't afford to even purchase a round lot of 100. So with the split, the stock will "look more affordable" to the masses, and of course, increase the float.

By the way, a source has told me to anticipate the Q beating estimates by 25%. Guess we'll see soon.

I was hoping for a 4 to 1 split so Q could revisit its so called "natural home" in the 40's.
