YHOO is just an example I give. It has enormous potential and may (will) climb to dizzying hights. I was just trying to emphasize that the plateau, when it comes, may be like it is trading now ! Very little variation. For that matter, the large float and matured sector in which PC makers like DELL and CPQ operate, have achived the same for them. I remember chasing DELL for a buy last year !

1929 scenario ? I doubt it. For one thing, the we're better equipped to avoid disasters like that. A decisive Govt intervention is much more likely under the circumstances. US economy creates leadership - and sustains the world markets. 1929 would pale in comparision if something affects US economy in this day and age - simply because global meltdown will be a hearbeat away. World was isolated into fragmented segments in 1929 and intercontinental affects were not as immediate and significant.

Having lived on three continents and observed first hand the dynamics of US relationships with the global community - I prefer not to think about it.....! The fallout would be terminal. Maybe like nosturdamus' vague prediction !

BWDIK ?
