Greg, don't be so hard on Rambus. There are many, many stocks that are doing much, much worse than Rambus. Would you like me to list them? Just a second, I have to get my account statement. <ggg>

Seriously, if Rambus can hold $60 (which is anyone's guess), for the vast majority of shareholders, they're making money. That's more than you can say for stocks like AMD, IOM, APM, WDC etc etc etc.

Rambus' time will come. It's just not worth holding a lot of it at this point.

Greg: I think you are being too hard on yourself. Even if RMBS had announced in January that they would be shipping in Q1 (which was the best case scenario everyone was hoping for), then royalties would have been received in Q2 and recognized in Q3 or October. So recognizing them in Q2 2000 is a six month lag from the best case scenario.

Considering the monstrous growth of the company starting this year and extending for five years a six month wait is hardly a hardship. I mean how would you like to own AMZN with the prospect of perhaps $2.00 in 2002/3 in a low margin business compared to RMBS in a very high margin business with the prospect of $4-$8 at 1/3 the price?

And we should all not forget that once their DRAM is launched and earning money, they will turn their brain trust to other applications.

Buy or hold the shares and play rip van winkle...you'll love it a few years from now.

I plan to round out my 5k shares to 10k over the next six months...and then enjoy the ride...i did this with MSFT after buying at the IPO...and it has worked beyond my wildest dreams.

Greg,

This isn't a delay. The December quarter is October-December, so if Camino is released in September (which is where they rescheduled it to in February), volume shipments would begin over the next three months (October-December) and Rambus would see the royalties in the January-March quarter.

Hang on, my friend. The stock will start to move when Camino really ships.
