Sorry, I meant limit order when I said sell order.

You can't place a stop order AND a limit order at the same time.

When you'd like the best of both world's, you can't have it.

i.e.
stock is at 100
You'd like to sell if it hits 110.
You'd like to place a stop loss order if it goes below 90.

Can't do it at ETrade.

Their exact reply:

We do not currently offer the ability to enter a limit and a stop orders to
cover both sides
of the market. If both orders were to execute you would end up selling two
times the
number of shares that you have in your account. Our system does not have
the ability
to cancel one order if the other executes. You can either place a limit
order above
the market price, or a stop order below the current market price. We are
exploring
the possibility of changing this at some point in the future.
