Fred, I think it is clear that CPQ's purchase of DEC was to mask some of their own problems. Now that's what I call a very major mask! DEC used to be #2 behind Big Blue in computers. I think CPQ has seen its best days. From what I can see and hear, their upper management seems out of touch, to say the least. Word from Tandem around here is that the creative engineering atmosphere that used to characterize the company has turned into one of under the thumb (boot?) control by Compaq. Tony
