Aware Demonstrates ADSL Standard Compliant Veritas992 DSL Test and Development System at DSLCon'99

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 13, 1999--Aware, Inc. (NASDAQ:AWRE - news), a worldwide leader in DSL (digital subscriber line) technology for high-speed Internet access over existing telephone networks, will demonstrate its standard-compliant Veritas992 DSL Test and Development System at DSLCon'99 in Dallas today.

Aware's Veritas992 is a complete DSL test and development system that supports full-rate ITU G.992.1, ANSI T1.413 ADSL and ITU G.992.2 g.lite standards and incorporates both central office (CO) and remote terminal (RT) modems. The Veritas992 provides chipmakers, equipment manufacturers and service providers the ability to establish a standard-compliant DSL link for interoperability testing, benchmarking and optimizing the performance of DSL products and services.

The Veritas992 also enables developers of emerging applications, such as Home Networking and Voice over DSL, to validate compatibility with standard-compliant DSL.

To facilitate ease of use, the Veritas992 includes an advanced DSL management tool called the Veritas992 DSL Manager. This PC-based graphical user interface employs simple dialog boxes to enable easy configuration and analysis of basic link set up and status, control management variables (CMVs), and error and statistics reporting.

The Veritas992 provides multiple interfaces for testing and integrating other network products and services, including POTS, ATM25, UTOPIA, and V.35. The Veritas992 also facilitates multiple CSA and ANSI loop simulations when configured with the Consultronics DLS 400 Line Simulator.

''The Veritas992 provides an affordable means of establishing a DSL connection which may be used for testing, benchmarking and optimizing the performance of DSL equipment and services,'' noted John Smits, Veritas992 product marketing manager. ''In addition, the Veritas992 system can be used to test new applications that are complementary to DSL, which are emerging as momentum in the DSL market increases.''

The Veritas992 is based on the field-proven AD20msp918 chipset from Analog Devices, which uses Aware's full-rate and DSL-Lite technology and software.

Jenna,
Do you follow NMGC? Looking on a strong uptrend past week from 10 - 14. Volume quite good today. Has swung from 10 - 23 over past year in a relatively predictable pattern. Bucked tech selloff today. Fundamentals are awesome as well. Any thoughts?

Mike

It just occurred to me that you may have thought I was
a PCLN holder; can assure you this is not the case.
Never owned the stock and--given your warnings--
probably never will.

Are you hanging onto RMII as an intermediate hold?
