I don't remember any especially small check. I wish all of them had been much smaller.

I heard of a guy who kept getting billed by the State of California court system for one penny. It was some sort of computer glitch in the child support division, and each month he would get dunned for one penny. They told him to just ignore it, but when he did that he ended up with a warrant out for his arrest. No one in the court could clear it up despite repeated attempts, so he would just send in his one penny check each month.
