Jill, another analyst nails another stock of mine (EMC), and might as well plop my reaction in here because it contains my view of analysts, FWIW:

Lucius M. Lamar (5419 )

Lucius,

Yes. STK reported lower sales of it's high end high profit tape
storage products.
This can be taken 2 ways - the whole tape storage market is off, or
that others
(EMC?) are taking market share.

I don't think EMC even sells tape drives; I found no mention of
them on their web site. I'll check with a friend who has a friend at
EMC.

Yesterday Niles on Intel and these guys today on EMC. I can't wait
for the day when these analysts are nebulous, nothing Nops,
because most investors will be doing their own research on the
net, like we do, and trade stocks on line. The latter can take out
"full service brokerages." It's going to be a new age.

Tony

Jill: >>>I think the whole thing is slanted news,
reporters in bed w/ analysts in bed w/ specific companies. Am I
going nuts? <<<

IMHO a healthy conspiracy theory (such as yours) can only broaden the mind.

Srini.
