I believe it was in the financial section of the Phil Inq a week ago.

People really don't understand what they are doing with ira's. (si members excluded). I did a few tax returns for low income folks who pulled out ira's to roll over and got a check in the mail and cashed it. They have no idea of what they where supposed to do and the companies don't help these people. It is really sad to see large tax bills coming due and folks closing out accounts for really no good reason. Another famous one is moving mutual funds around (non IRA) sell a fund and buy another in the same fund family. They don't understand there is a tax due on any gain...

I got an email from smartmoney, it states, Warren Buffett recommends ten internet stocks. Sunw is one of them.

If you converted your traditional IRA b4 Jan. 1, 1999 you will NOT have to pay additional taxes on gains or at least that is what I read.

If you convert your traditional IRA in 1999, you will have to pay taxes when you file 1999 taxes. Unfortunately, that will happen to me since one was not converted in time.
