Buffett says "virtually all" stocks too expensive

LONDON, April 15 (Reuters) - Billionaire investor Warren Buffett reiterated on Thursday his warning that U.S. share prices were too high, saying that ''virtually all'' company shares he might want to buy were too expensive.

Buffett told BBC radio while in Paris on a business trip that he would advise small investors not to be too eager to buy into Wall Street equities.

''It is tough,'' Buffett said. ''Equity valuations, at least in the U.S., are fairly full and I would not advise somebody in the U.S. to rush into the equity market.''

Asked about the companies he might want to buy, Buffett
said:
"It is too expensive for me in virtually all cases."
Buffett, who is based in Nebraska and is known as the "Sage
of Omaha," remained silent about the identity of the British blue-chip company in which he is building a stake. On Monday, Buffett said he was buying into an unnamed British company.
His extremely successful holding company Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRKa - news) has $15 billion in cash to invest and boosted net earnings by nearly 50 percent in 1998.

Makes you wonder what is going on behind the scenes ... if they are doing this at a top -- what kind of barrage are we going to get when the DOW drops 1500 points?
