Really? I would have said it tends to infuse them with even more religious authority. That is to say, tends to strengthen them as expressions of the "collective [religious] unconsciousness", if there is/was such a thing...

Dang, the same thing happened to me! Thanks for the tip about the breadcrumbs. I didn't think of that! Now...where IS it, anyway?
