Richard - in the era of sound bites and 2 week attention spans - even this war may be driven off the main headlines - and then political support for ground troops will wane - so we may see a stalemate which solves nothing even in the short term - a sense of hopelessness which could be part of a loss of confidence in high tech, coupled with Y2K concerns - all part of a reason why the Dow may tumble - hopefully good for Gold.
