Valueman:

This is the most important: They got no change with the standards.

This is an additional benefit: Picked up a bargain to enter a new market and by that consolodated their leading position as an infrastructure vendor.

And to your last question, no...I personally do not!
I have in the past worked for many manufacturers (mainly European including Ericsson, Nokia and many smaller ones, but I also did something for a US company based in the Netherlands), telecom consultants, T&M equipment, and various operators (local, international). I speak with most of the well known International magazines on a regular basis, as I used to work with many of the editors and I have discovered much through their contact with other people (in recent times, Ericsson and Qulacomm). At present I am writing about intelligent networks and transmission technology (e.g., WDM).
