No, doesn't work that way. You don't go "short" options, you sell them and create new ones. There is no limited pool of outstanding options unlike a company's stock where the total actual shares are a "fixed" number for a given period. If you are nervous, just call your broker and ask them to explain and sort out why there is no reported open interest.
