Dumont Nickel Inc. ("DNI-M") Starts Lac Rocher Drilling

TORONTO, ONTARIO--

Dumont Nickel Inc. ("Dumont") and International Kirkland Minerals
Inc. ("IKI") announced that drilling will begin on April 20, 1999
at their Foreurs Property contiguous and about 1000 m to the
south of Nuinsco.

Geophysical surveys in March and early April 1999 have identified
two significant IP anomalies. Anomaly A is a moderate-to-strong
IP anomaly, following the south limit of a magnetic high for
about 1.2 km from line 0 to line 11 E trending ESE. Anomaly B is
a moderate-to-strong IP anomaly, coincident with this magnetic
high, extends about 0.8 km from line 3E to line 11E near the
baseline, also trending ESE. Six drill-holes totalling
approximately 1000 meters are planned. The location of the
anomalies, anticipated drill-hole locations and selected IP
pseudo-sections will be posted on April 20, 1999 on Dumont's
website www.dumontnickel.com.

Dumont also holds five properties in northern Quebec. Dumont's
Lac Raglan property is immediately to the east of Falconbridge's
Raglan Mine, where a $580 million mine- mill-town complex
commenced commercial production in December 1997. In summer 1998,
Dumont carried out a $450,000 surface exploration program, which
identified six significant geophysical anomalies. On December
31, 1998, Dumont completed $1,061,500 (net $900,00) in new equity
financing at $0.50 per common share. Dumont recently announced a
letter of intent with the Hunter Dickinson Group for a $2-$6
million financing for its Lac Raglan property. Dumont plans to
commence a drilling program in Raglan in June 1999.
