Maxer, the rule of thumb is about 4 times the stock's move. the two stocks mentioned are not the only movers today. *all* the basic materials and cyclical stocks in the dow continue to move up today.

regards,

hb

MAXER,

I heard that the factor is 4.4. So for every one point move in a DOW stock moves the index 4.4 points. I read somewhere that next year with projected splits in some DOW stocks, the factor will be over 5.
