More random CC impressions: .18u starts at Fab 25 in 3Q, major production 4Q...will not be K6-2. .18u-CU production from Dresden 1Q00. K7 starts shipping in June, in boxes in July. K7 is so good it will capture "all" top tier customers (i.e. Dell). K7 will be the most powerful Windows MPU for at least 6+ months. K7 much more powerful than PII or PIII. K7 goal is 1GHZ by end of 2000. Re speed mix fix: "We learn from our mistakes and we improve" AMD sees market for MPUs remaining strong. Need $100 ASP, so profitability in 2Q may be questionable, but it should be a lot better due to higher speed mix fix. Goal is to make lots of money on each ($10000 cost) wafer...a given truism. :^) I think I'll start bottom fishing. regards, Dan
