Victor - You are absolutely correct about Bill Gates and his interest in this technology - he has personally invested more than a billion dollars in a venture to provide high bandwidth bi-directional satellite communication worldwide. But this venture is only beginning to bear fruit since it requires development and launch of a number of new satellites (low earth orbit rather than stationary high orbit as is used for TV download). Likewise new tracking systems need to be developed and deployed. When this is done it will make a huge difference but it will be a while before you can use it.
