"If" is the essence of any rationale for investing in AMD. They have grandiose plans for continuing their near suicidal head first kamikaze attack on Intel. All their plans are based upon perfect execution (clearly their strong suit) and comatose dumbfounded non-response by Intel. IF they execute perfectly and IF Intel doesn't
a) lower prices not on AMDs desired schedule
b) introduce competitive products
c) advertise the Intel alternatives
then AMD will make tons of money.

The business plan from hell. They are now in a position where they absolutely positively have to get out a winner K7 - on time, at good prices - or probably become a subsidiary of a well-heeled saviour.

Looks to me like next quarter loses money too. Third quarter probably breaks even and fourth should make money. Any mis-steps from this point forward and you can start playing funeral dirges.

Good investing,
Burt
