The market appears to be schizophrenic on the Y2K issue. Traders hit Y2K vendors because multiple surveys indicate most of the Y2K money has already been spent, and also hit ERP like SAP because Y2K is drawing spending away.
I guess it boils down to who you believe, an analyst surveying 45 companies ( are the 45 the ones he asked or the ones that actually answered ?), or the company with 4 times the polling sample and true insider knowledge. To me, it's a short term tempest in a teapot, but these things tend to get out of hand when the tech market is in a pessimistic mood.

I agree with you if nothing else because I believe in EMC's management.
I may be paranoid but quite frankly I do not trust the so called experts.
They are wrong 50% of the time. No wonder those guys at CNBC ridicule them as much as they do.
