Been there done that....

Hey, please don't be so hard on yourself, ok? I think we've all done stuff that makes us want to curl up in a ball & whimper for mommy from time to time since beginning to do our own investing for ourselves! Lord knows, I've had plenty of regrets in the year I've been actively doing it now- and luckily- a larger preponderance of things to cheer about too! Personally, I learned a few things the hard way:

1) Never leap into an unknown stock thats taking off because somebody
on some stock talk thread is running around touting it- (done that-
was lucky on BAMM & not so lucky on MZON!- sold the MZON at a loss)

2) Not to invest in a stock because a friend tells me they're buying
a lot of it because their broker assures them the company's about
to be bought & the share price is going to go up fast! (Did that-
TSATA--- bought at almost $3 , sold at $1--- almost even from that
loss finally!)

3) Find investment strategies that work for me- not for others!
I've personally found buying pre-split & either keeping (when I
like the company -- like AOL & MSFT) or selling at a gain after
the run is over is good. Also- I've figured out that I don't want
to pay a ton of short term capital gains! So... I got smart &
now buy the equities I believe in (AOL, DELL, CSCO, MSFT- The
Internet Fund)...and keep buying more as I can afford to when
their price dips- and plan to own them quite a while as well as
add other long term holdings... I don't have to worry myself to
death about the minute by minute or day by day ticks either this
way.

AOL has been terrific for me- it alone has nearly got me to full
financial recovery from the TSATA debacle in a miraculously short time- and even though its down today, I'm still very profitable in it
& have no regrets!

Please don't get down-- I think patience & stick to itiveness, (spelling?? Lord only knows! *lol*) will
help you get back in the green too! *HUG*
