Datek is starting to get to me too! This morning, I got many more "server busy" errors than normal.

Also, does anybody know where there is a Datek list of non-marginable\non-shortable stocks? The only way that I know to determine is a stock is on one of these lists it get a quote from a standard (not express) server. Having to try to get a quote from Datek just to determine if the stock is shortable is plain stupid! Not to mention frustrating. Since I use QCharts for data, getting a quote from Datek just to determine if the stock is shortable has caused me to miss several opportunities.

I had been planning on creating a Datek Order Entry tool that was hooked to the QFeed application that I am developing. Since QFeed provides real-time prices, I would just click on a stock, select the buy or sell type and watch my app follow the prices as they go up or down. Then I'd just pull the trigger to execute (no worries about entering the right price). Now I'm thinking that this would be a horrible waste of time. Who cares if I can save 15 seconds in order entry if Datek takes 2 minutes to fill the damned order.

OK, Flame Off!

Nick, it's interesting. Watching L2 possible to notice that ISLD orders entry time changing on later and I think it MUST be "coincidental" with 5:00 TIF orders appearance on ISLD book. Well....... explanation could be very transparent - 5min order "must" be taken care first because with lack of liquidity it can disappear fast with no fill. Injustice...yes, who ever told you that life is fair? Busyness exists for not to please, but to hurt :)
Michael.
