JungleInvestor, Acid jobs improve flow to the wellbore from the open formation. Often done because drilling mud from the drilling of the well has "plugged up" the face of the drilling formation in a traditionally-drilled well.

On horizontal wells, multiple deviations are becoming much more common. The "cutting edge" in multiple deviations horizontally now IMO is control of injected fluids/gases when you have multiple horizontal wellbores. It's much harder to tell where a breakthrough is coming from when suddenly uphole you start to receive back a whole bunch of the water/gas etc that you are injecting to try to improve production...IMO that takes a really good reservoir/petroleum engineer....
