What does everyone think of the earnings report? I haven't ever seen this thread this dead after earnings. I was not impressed with the report. The conference call should be interesting.

s. bateh, A good day to come out of SI internet jail. IOM seems well poised and I see good reason to hang on to my sizable position. Noticed that Rockhead and Bubblehead are banging heads together again. We know what that means. Oh, Oh, chains and black leather. Who else could take pride in buying IOM and selling IOM at the same price? What superior traders these bunnybutts seem to be.

I love the position Dell is taking with regard to IOM. It's a great partnership for IOM that reflects a serious change in direction and management.

Sure wish someone would track down the Sony/IOM story. We need to know what this portends.

Best of luck to everyone except you know who - rockdipper.

Regards, David S

From the Press Release:

"Iomega shipped 118 thousand Jaz® drives and 422 thousand Jaz disks in the first quarter, down 46 percent and 32 percent, respectively, from the first quarter of 1998."

WHOAH!!!! CD-RW is kicking Jaz's butt all over the map!! And this is without a big ORB rollout. Just think...Jaz will get sliced off just like Ditto did real soon.

REVENUES DOWN 6% from last year.

Only $5 Million in Revenue was realized from Total Flop! drive and disk sales. Flop! Tie Ratio was a measly 2.8 to 1! What a Flop!

Just in...Special Charges to be applied against 2nd Q 99 Earnings...Layoffs... WHAT A BOMB OF A REPORT!
