>>general PC and tech slowdown<< This is assuming that such a slowdown actually exists in the economy, and not with only specific companies.

Also, DELL's revenue and earnings numbers were significantly better than SUNW's, but DELL still got slammed (albiet DELL trades, even now, at a higher multiple than SUNW).

The conference call will make or break this stock near term. Long term, I have no concerns.

Regards,

LoD

Dear Alok, [Look at the REVENUE GROWTH (24%). That is why SUN will do well tomorrow. Too many companies have made or beat their numbers with weak revenues (making the shortfall by selling Internet stock holdings or interest revenues). That is the reason for the underlying weakness in NASD and nervousness. SUN's figures basically show that it is (as of now) unaffected by the general PC and tech slowdown.}

I agree with you. From what I've read Sun is a star because it is not a PC company so it's profit margins are not under the pressure that the PC companies face.

Actually, there is a guy in Seattle who sells a a PC for $100.00. If you want a monitor he charges an extra $100.00 His profits are slim. He makes $36.00 on each PC, according to news reports, but he has many back orders.
