just bought a little aol today. they can own stocks they talk about. I think they just have to verbally disclose that fact if they do.

I strongly suspect that the staff at CNBC are all heavily into the market. They may be forced by contract provisions to do it by blind pools or something. But unable to invest? No way..........

I wonder if that includes investing in a mutual fund which covers numerous stocks. Also by not being able to comment on say SUNW (because the own it) what keeps them from slamming IBM, DELL, etc?

As for their income, I'm sure they're not looking for two nickels to rub together ;-)
