If you're thinking about potential sponsors, I'd look away from golf product manufacturers. You eliminate potential players who endorse other products. For example, Mark O'Meara plays Top Flite. You won't find him at non-PGA event sponsored by Titleist.

Instead, turn towards companies whose target market is 30-50 with annual incomes above $50,000. Companies like Citbank, American Express, and auto makers is probably aiming WAY too high. But down a tier or two you can find companies that might have an interest. E*Trade comes to mind off hand. There are thousands. You can also eliminate companies that already sponsor events: Merrill Lynch, AMEX, Arthur Anderson, Shell, and the list goes on...
