Or do they mean that the processor they will release in late-2000 should be compared with an AMD processor that will have been introduced in mid-1999 :)

Intel is probably in a huge panic over K7. They set the market segmentation trap, and may be about to spring it on themselves.

I bet we don't see any more Celeron price cuts for a long time.

This is from the Register. It is unsubstantiated rumor. I have no idea if Intel is showing the foils that are alleged. No company spokesperson is quoted. Take it with a grain of salt.

That said, if some of the rumor is has basis in fact, it appears that there will be a horse race between K7 and IA32. Also, it appears to me that K7 will release at 500. Just my WAG.
