Research Notes... HAUP and WavePhore

** For somebody on the RB board: Sarnoff will be at NAB. Sarnoff missing NAP would be like Microsoft not going to COMDEX. Sarnoff is one of the driving forces in TV, DTV, and HDTV, and is/was a member of the Grand Alliance. And it used the NAB platform last year to release several press releases including one about co-branding and two others about new technologies.

** Hauppauge and WaveTop (Wavephore) have a symbiotic relationship it appears. Look at the wonderful quote from the Hauppauge CEO buried in this WaveTop press release from last year: "Mr. Ken Plotkin, CEO of Hauppauge Computer Works, stated 'I believe one of the driving forces behind the dramatic sales increases for our WinTV boards this year in the U.S. has been the availability of the WaveTop broadcast service.'" Here's the link:

Note: This is a WaveTop Press Release. WaveTop is a WAVX partner--I think largely because of the importance of WAVX data broadcasting patents. Hauppauge is a WAVX partner whose upcoming WinTV product will incorporate WAVX technology. This isn't speculation. This is real.
