I wasn't suggesting that the two are analogous, I was responding to your assertion that we should be glad that we have a military that doesn't waiver when given orders. I don't agree with that, and the Nuremberg remark was to show that as a civilized society we hold even our military to a "higher" calling than just to follow orders. You can be given an illegal order, and if you obey the illegal order, you can be held accountable.

Yes I want a military subservient to our civilian government and similarly I want a civilian government that doesn't use our military for political empowerment. My guess is when a political leader goes against the advice of his own military advisors, the latter is probably the case.
