Thanks Wogger

I especially liked the quote… "And if an online visionary like Steve Case is frightened, we want to invest in what scares him."

I Feel better already

Now tell me where would you rather put your investment dollar? In a service with 17 million pissed off people on a slow moving internet connection or a super fast enjoyable easy to use system with 750,000 subscribers? I made the switch to @home about two months ago and am happy as could be no longer is surfing a chore I can whip around at my pace not AOL's. I've often heard people say "man if I'd only put $x,xxx dollars in AOL 3 years ago it would be worth $xxx, xxx dollars today. The internet is here to stay and as the mass audience of AOL becomes more savvy and the @home service becomes more accessible the pattern will become evident. The recent news regarding AOL president asking congress for help only makes the future more clear, cable access is the clear cut trend for the future. Don't let the past few days volatility get the best of you. This stock should be a longer term investment in any forward thinking persons portfolio.

Wogger- Thanks for posting the article. I enjoyed reading it. It was very favorable to @Home and broadband. I am sure that AOL is very concerned. I do feel that AOL will come out of this just fine. They have done well, and will continue to do so. I should own AOL as well as ATHM.

I posted yesterday that I received a letter from TCI@Home. The letter stated that they must first upgrade the cable plant that serves my neighborhood for two-way communication. They told me there was a very strict quality control standard. Once the plant is certified, they will begin beta testing of the software and service. When they are satisfied, they will add subscribers. The letter read "unavailable" in bold lettering at the top. After reading the this, I figured I was six months to a year before I would see any service.

One day later, I get the infamous card in the mail. The card says, "Be the first in your neighborhood to join the cable Internet revolution." COMING SOON! They are TOYING with me! I know damn well I won't see service in '99. I am stuck with this AOL until 2000 for sure! My house/addition will not be an easy area to install. I am over the river and through the woods. They won't hassle for the few houses in my association. I can see it now! They will have ATHM service ALL AROUND ME! I will be an island! I am going to have to move!
