No, I'm not saying I want the military to run our national policy, just the opposite. I am saying I want the politicians to listen to the military advice they get. Of course it is ultimately the decision of the political leadership in a democracy, but when they act in variance to the consensus military opinion, well, one does have to question what is motivating that decision.

Expecting to see a military resignation over a serious conflict within the administration hardly means that you want the military to "run" national policy, I would rather see that, than have them go ahead with the policy and then criticize the political leaders decisions.
