I'm a believer in DSL: cable modem bandwidth through the network decreases with each person online. In the real world, though, we have examples like VHS over Betamax, so technically superior specs and performance don't always win.

I've read there are problems with cable cos. laying
the cable fast enough for @home. There is IN fighting
between @home and cable cos. They are fighting over
control. Everything is not as rosey as the article
says with cable modems. There are problems with install.
I live in a close in suburb of Chicago and TCI has
routed @HOME to 2 towns only. I wouldn't be so
quick to sell my AOL. But that is only this man's
humble opinion.
