RudeDog, and all.. I've been doing this for 27 yrs. It is BS to say that since you have non-delivered software we won't look at it. I never said nor intended to say the 3 yr on site would come out and fix software problems but the way the original msg was written, the excuse was she had installed software on the machine since it was delivered (non-preinstalled). It was that argument I was taking issue with, not that they should be responsible for software installs or botched installs. I have never heard of McAfee or Norton preventing a machine from working properly by virtue of having been installed. It could well be the machine was delivered with a virus and the norton install 'cleaned' it by removing the offending dll, or exe. Depending on which one that was it could prevent the system from functioning properly. In this case it IS a warranty issue.
On a different note, is DELL going to $45 today???? lets all hope eh?
