Justa: "..such high volume on all of the averages..."

Perhaps the recent "volume-increase" is partly due to last-minute/April 15th IRA contributions? Am curious if anyone knows how much of the increased volume may be foreign investments. My thought was whether foreign money could be moving to Europe soon/now - with recent announcements of lower interest rates???? *

Let's see if the higher volume is sustained......

Re: "..broadening of the market to include mid caps and small caps..."

Will be of interest to me if Brinker discusses such broadening of the market/sector rotation and whether the Starship Commander attaches much longer term significance to it.

-
Dear Abby excerpts below seem to indicate that she thinks broadening could even include some emerging markets.........

'We will see willingness by investors to move away from the largest markets and the largest stocks,'' she said.

''We would expect that within the U.S. equity market, as investor confidence builds, that there will be no recession this year or
next, that small and middle capitalization stocks may benefit. And as you look around the rest of the world, we believe that stock markets of some of the emerging countries may also benefit.''

* P.S.-Just found this link from USAToday which seems to "agree" with me (or is it the other way around ? <g>)

Re: "... why have so many that have beaten earnings estimates have declined in value on the announcement of those earnings and in such high volume on all of the averages?"

Buy the rumor, sell the news.

Best wishes,
