If there were a problem, it would seem that Qcom could always spinoff all or part of the options to buy, it could assign the option to buy to a lender which would assume the funding obligation to Leap, it could sell same. Besides, as pointed out by prior post, there may be relationships with big carriers that might subject other bidders to the same scrutiny but there have been no challenges in that regard that I am aware of. I think the company took a good strategy of trying to get close-by markets; marketing, for example, in two Arizona cities has got to have some overlap namewise.

I also don't think that 17% is deemed "controlling interest", on Q's part this would just be an investment shown on their books at cost.

Just one more future PR to cause the stock to pop.
