3dnow.net asked Drew Prarie of AMD about that article, and this was his response (no surprise here):

"We haven't released any benchmarks, so I'm not sure where they are getting those Winstone scores. I'd be really surprised if Intel is releasing Winstone scores on a processor that won't ship until late 2000. As for future processor speeds, we plan to be at 1Ghz by the end of next year --- not 666Mhz. Celeron the same performance as a K7??????
As for our eigth-generation processor, we haven't made any announcements there, and I can pretty much guarantee that no one out there has a processor to benchmark. Even if someone did, that is no where near production silicon."
