DALLAS, April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- CompUSA Inc. CPU , America's Largest Computer Superstore(R) retailer, announced plans to streamline the operations of CompUSA Net.com to an Internet-only organization.
James F. Halpin, president and chief executive officer of CompUSA Inc., said, "The individuals being recruited for key positions at CompUSA Net.com have extensive Internet business experience. By continuing business activities in an exclusively Internet format at CompUSA Net.com, the new management team can focus exclusively on rapidly growing the Internet business."

The realignment of CompUSA Net.com to an Internet-only company is expected to take three months to implement and to negatively impact the fourth quarter financial results of CompUSA Inc. by approximately $5-$8 million. In addition, CompUSA Net.com will eliminate approximately 200 positions from its Marlborough, Mass. location, transfer certain operations to CompUSA Inc., and phase out third-party fulfillment activities.>>
