Joan, I take strong exception. Ockham's razor works because it provides the mechanism for choosing between to equally likely explanations. It does not make exceptions for likelihood. Thus, if the simpler explanation fails to explain all of the facts it must be eliminated no matter how appealing. The only way you know that an explanation is not the right one is that it fails to take into account all of the known facts.
