George C; ie: short sellers -

George - I do not dread them; I respect them and use the aftermath of their entry as my buying/trading opportunities. I wouldn't be a shorter here - too much risk for my blood, but SLB, or HAL may be any easy $1-2 play for an intra day trade in the midst of a big MO-Mo day down.

It should be somewhat disturbing that we often move entirely in unison in this sector, both up and down. The shorts of late have been great traders - very sharp. The buyers all arrive on the same day and leave on the same day. 5% down - then 5% up. It is allmost as if they pass the keys to the store (OSX) to each other - and then say ''have your way with the OSX today.'' I expect the shorts to be here either this afternoon (if not at the open) or by Mon-Tues...we shall see.

Simple common sense imho; dictates there is not adequate buying support to maintain this level nearterm; but you know what they say about common sense.... - again, NOT a concern to anyone other than traders, or for someone trying to select an initial entry point.

I am curious on a side issue to see how the internets perform today. This has been unreal. There are now 2nd & 3rd tier plays that have multi Billion market caps that have single Million digit revenues - or near non existant revenues in some cases - sheer insanity.

The collapse of these imposter companies, unfortunately will be the match that sets the good companies afire ... this will be an amazing story to watch it unfolds... I would love to have a chance to buy Cisco, Lucent, BRCM, VTSS, AOL, or Yahoo at last Octobers crash levels.... time will tell.

PS - James Cramer has an excellent article on his view of this cyclical move - he, like Vince Farrell, is a doubter of this being the real deal. I also saw a couple of cyclical companies CEO's on CNBC of late (PD was one) and they were not bullish nearterm - honest, but not bullish...kind of sounds like the Oilpatch CEO's now doesn't it - ask yourself; when the last time a move ''stuck'' off of this type of commentary....?
