Interesting article from The Telegraph... Yet, I don't think that one has to overanalyse past wars in the Balkans to get a clue about the current crisis. No need to study the Crimean War, the British rule in 1920 Iraq, the Nazi invasion of Yugoslavia, or how tough it's been for Napoleon to make it up to Moscow in 1803(?)...
Let me remind you that such a versatile war gear as the helicopter was invented after WWII...
Hence, I think that if NATO goes full steam ahead in Kosovo, it'll just crush the Serbian forces to a routed mob... Everybody knows it, I know it, and the Russians know it as well --that's why they scramble for avoiding such an extreme development.

Good link Les. It confirms my sources and conclusions that we really are fighting a political campaign in so far as it must be politically correct ; no casualties on our side, no civilian casualties.

The real problem is that if Clinton did his research on military operations he should have come to the conclusion that an air-only campaign hasn't worked before and a PLAN B (Ground Forces) should have been prepared (executed in parallel) from day 1.

As a side note; It's refreshing how truthful and insightful the UK press is ? Maybe we need a BBC North America ;) I most certainly would watch them over CNN.

Two things of note. First, the KLA is using farm tractors as military vehicles, so the Serbs CAN have excuses for bombing tractors. Second, a KLA soldier was instructed by his senior officers not to speak with the press. So much for Barry's free press--the KLA wants to make sure we hear only the party line.

Truth is, once again, the first casualty of war.
