Here's the rest of the story ref my "bad Stop Order". When I originally tried to place the order, the stock was above the stop. Since servers were horrendously slow, by the time my order took, stock was below the stop. MM rejected the order, but the electronic update did not take place so I was showing as open. When Waterhouse realized the problem, they did call...but to my home phone...and left a message on my machine which I heard 8 hours later on returning home.

Yesterday, my account executive explained it all, admitted I should have been notified sooner (by electrons or phone) but basically said I'd have to eat the loss. Shortly there after, a manager called and asked when I first brought this problem to their attention. He checked the prints and offered to execute me at that price. I still have a loss on the trade, but I feel they made an honest effort to show some customer focus.

Another trading day...another lesson learned!!
