Mike, News says it is primarily air national guard and a big chunk will be ground support and air crew for tankers. I can't believe we are flying bombing runs out of the US round trip. Got to be some fuel bill. -ng-

MDB,

I'm not sure it can be called good news but it is about stepping up
the air strike forces. However, National Guard troops sounds ominous.

Being old enough to remember the Vietnam war, it reminds me of the
start of the ever escalating war effort. I have the impression that
soon it will be more of a struggle for political and military status
rather than a matter of compassion for the Kosovo Albanians.

Maybe I'm cynical but I think most of Kosovo and parts of Albania
could have been bought with the money now being spent for this
war effort and then set up as a safe haven for the refugees.

ASHINGTON -- The Pentagon plans to ask President Clinton for the authority to call up as many as 33,000 reservists and National Guard members to bolster the attack against Yugoslavia, significantly widening the American contribution to NATO's war in the Balkans, senior military and Administration officials said Thursday.
